Embrace Brain Breaks
Brain breaks can be your best helper. It’s a great way to re-energize your students in your home.
They are movements of 1-5 minutes, mostly involving bodily movement, providing re-activation.
The beauty of brain breaks is that they are designed as short and engaging activities that stimulate children’s brains while changing things.
So When Should You Use Brain Breaks?
• Before an intensive lesson
• Course transitions
• When you notice that children are distracted
• If children are dozing off or staring blankly
Don’t be afraid to call in reinforcements.
For most of us, this is the most uninterrupted time we spend with our children and families. Value it and take advantage of it. After all, there are educators and teachers who can help your child academically. This is not permanent. So teach your child what you can do and guide them through this unexpected transition, and most importantly, don’t be afraid to ask for help.
